Patrick Henry

Class of 1958

Patrick Henry ‘58 is true scholar of philosophy and literature. After graduating from La Salle Academy, Pat went on to receive his B.A. in French from St. John’s University in 1965. He then continued with his education and earned his M.A. and Ph. D in French from Rice University in 1974. Pat went on to have a fulfilling career teaching French language, serving as the professor emeritus of philosophy and literature at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington from 1976-2002. Pat has published several books and over 100 articles and reviews of French literature. Since retiring, he has been researching and writing about the Holocaust and teaching classes on the subject at Walla Walla Community College. He and his wife Mary Anne are both retired professors and live in Walla Walla, Washington. Their daughter followed in their footsteps and became a French professor as well! She is a member of the faculty at Georgetown University. Pat and his wife remain consistent supporters of La Salle by way of the Lasallian Patrons program.

Isaac Duncan III

Class of 1992

A prominent artist recognized primarily as a sculptor, Isaac Duncan III ’92 got his start at La Salle Academy and is now internationally known. A Brooklyn native of Caribbean descent, he received his BFA from the University of Notre Dame, Certification of Secondary Art Education from St. Mary’s College, and MFA from the University of Kentucky. Isaac has taught elementary, middle school, and university level art courses, and has been an artist-in-residence at many galleries and studios across the United States.

Isaac was employed by John Henry Sculptor, Inc., where he was the crew supervisor, heavy equipment operator and assistant to internationally renowned sculptor John Henry. This experience was a catalyst in Isaac’s career. In 2008, Isaac purchased his own warehouse and opened his Tennessee studio, Duncan Sculpture & Services, where he creates large scale sculpture and fabrication projects. After participating in his virtual class reunion in early 2022, Isaac volunteered as a guest lecturer for La Salle’s art classes and he also participated as the keynote speaker for La Salle’s 33rd Annual Art Expo. Isaac currently resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his family.

Daniel Sanchez

Class of 2007

After graduating from La Salle Academy in 2007, Daniel Sanchez went on to receive his B.S. in Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. It was at Stevens where Daniel met his wife and decided to remain a New Jersey resident. Today, Daniel works at Jump Trading LLC as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to that, he worked for Bloomberg, Harness Wealth, and TD Ameritrade. After a virtual reunion with his classmates in early 2022, Daniel decided to come back to La Salle as a guest lecturer, where he left a positive impact on our freshmen, potential future software engineers! Daniel is active in his faith and plays lead guitar for his church in Hoboken. He and his wife have two daughters and currently reside in Jersey City.
