Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

This past Thursday, the La Salle Academy community of parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, faculty, staff, alumni and Board Trustees gathered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral to celebrate as another class of La Salle Men joined the school’s elite 171-year history of alumni. This year’s senior class walked down the aisle led by Chairman of La Salle Academy’s Board of Trustees, Salvatore LaRocca ’82. Sharplydressed in their black tuxedos and red boutonnieres, these young men proudly marched to the altar to receive their high school diplomas.

Salutatorian Christopher Sanchez Leon ’19 (left) and Valedictorian Kristian Amado Olvera ’19 (right) each had a few moments to address their classmates from the podium. Later in the program, a handful of students were presented with awards and honors. Students received awards for Academic Excellence in each curricular subject and others received honors in science, leadership, and service.

We celebrated an important milestone for alumni, too. La Salle Academy’s classes of 1969 and 1994 celebrated their golden and silver jubilees, respectively, of graduating from high school. These alumni were presented with their commemorative diplomas on the altar of St. Patrick’s (photos below.) Congratulations, gentlemen!

It was a special night for all of us as we said goodbye to a group of 73 students. 100% of these young men were accepted to college this year and have committed to attend a school this fall, 90% of which are 4-year institutions. Collectively, the class of 2019 earned over $21 million in college scholarships and grants.

Congratulations on your achievements, men, and remember… you are always La Salle.
