IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD… AND A TEAM TO CAPTURE A CITY CHAMPIONSHIP

Saturday, November 12, 2022 – Cross country is a grueling grind that begins in the exhausting heat of summer, literally racing through to the fall days that are much cooler and challenging during the City Championships in November. As Lasallians, we believe and embrace the concept of “educating the whole child” and our cross country team continues to be an example of the diversity needed to excel at the highest level.

There are a few important story lines about this, La Salle’s second consecutive CHSAA ‘B’ Intersectional City Championship. First, only one student-athlete, senior Edgar Alvarado, remained from last year’s championship team. Second, La Salle had five of the seven runners finish in the Top 20, including two freshmen (7th & 19th) and a sophomore (9th).

The Cardinals came into the Intersectional Championship as the true underdogs and showed great versatility and resilience to earn the 2nd consecutive Cross Country Intersectional City Championship!
