La Salle Academy Hosts 27th Annual Cardinal Classic

La Salle Academy’s 27th annual Cardinal Classic proved to be a remarkable event filled with camaraderie and community spirit. Despite encountering several weather delays, the day was a resounding success, thanks to the over 80 enthusiastic participants who attended the event.

The event offered a wonderful opportunity for alumni, friends, and supporters of La Salle Academy to come together and enjoy a day of friendly competition on the golf course. This event was made possible through the generous support of the event sponsors, whose contributions helped create a memorable experience for all involved.

A special thanks is owed to Tom Cunningham ‘71, Golf Committee Chair and fellow members Carl Gambino ‘76 and Robert Welsh ‘55 for their efforts in organizing the venue and event. Additionally, the Whippoorwill Club deserves acknowledgement for their assistance and hard work hosting the event.

The true highlight of the day was the incredible amount of funds raised. Through the collective efforts of the participants and generous donations, over $85,000 was raised. These funds will benefit the young men of La Salle Academy, providing them with valuable educational opportunities and tuition assistance. Our 50/50 winners this year were Steve Sangle and Alfred Landi ’71.

The Cardinal Classic has undoubtedly become a cherished tradition for La Salle Academy, bringing together the community while making a meaningful impact on the lives of the students. With the continued support of sponsors and participants, this exceptional event will continue to thrive for many years to come.

Mark your calendars for the 28th annual Cardinal Classic on Thursday, September 21st, 2023, as Plandome Country Club will play host. Further details will be announced in the near future.
