La Salle Academy’s June Recap

June 1st was the 27th time I addressed graduates during their commencement exercises in my role as the school’s chief administrator. This year was different however, because my stay at the school coincided with that of the students who were receiving diplomas. Finally, I was not left back!

It was a special experience for me as I traveled with the young men in La Salle Academy’s Class of 2023 through four years of high school, each tainted by a global pandemic that confronted us with unique challenges and required our creative responses. We all learned a lot more than any school exam could assess! Our most recent alumni manifest the brotherhood nurtured by their shared experience and it has been a treat to witness the young men they have become during their time at La Salle.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023! Click here to see where our graduates will be attending college in the fall.

Cardinal Classic Golf Outing

The 27th Cardinal Classic Golf Outing was held was held at Whippoorwill Country Club in Armonk, NY on June 26th with over 80 participants who golfed or attended the dinner program. Despite weather delays, our golfers were able to hit the greens and we surpassed our goal, raising over $85,000 for tuition assistance! Click here to read more about our successful golf outing.

Mark you calendars! The next Cardinal Classic Golf Outing in our new fiscal year is scheduled for ThursdaySeptember 21 at Plandome County Club on Long Island. If you are interested in joining La Salle’s next golf outing, contact Thomas Ferro at 212-475-8940 ext. 301 or [email protected].

My ministry as the President of La Salle Academy was a privileged time and the source of many blessings. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to be a part of our school’s 175 year history and to share the recent chapters of that great story with each of you, fellow participants in the life of La Salle Academy.

During the last couple of weeks, my successor, Dr. Thomas Fitzmaurice, has been on campus and we have worked together. I am confident his leadership will ensure the successful implementation of the school’s recently announced strategic plan. Let’s journey together with him on the pathway to the future of La Salle Academy.

I look forward to being busy in my retirement and I assure you of my thanks, my prayers, and my best wishes.

Brother Thomas P. Casey, FSC
President
