Alumni News
On January 12, alumni spanning multiple decades gathered to celebrate the much-anticipated return of Alumni Basketball Night. Members of 20 graduating classes were present including the classes from the 50s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s. Alumni and guests enjoyed a private VIP reception in the La Salle Commons and cheered on the JV squad virtually through NFHS Network. The reception was followed by a special pregame ceremony for the 2022 Varsity Soccer and Varsity Cross-Country City Championship teams before the varsity basketball game. La Salle continues to boast one of the richest athletic traditions in New York City. Thank you to everyone for celebrating and supporting Cardinal Athletics!
In Memoriam
We received sad news of the passing of alumnus, Dr. James McPartland ’57. He was a proud supporter of La Salle for numerous decades. Join us in keeping Dr. McPartland ’57 and his loved ones in our prayers. He embodied the spirit of St. John Baptist de La Salle with his lifelong commitment to education at both La Salle Academy and in classrooms around the country. The Legacy Society
“Attending a seminar on estate planning sparked our thought process of how we wanted to honor those who played large parts in our lives, as well as our heirs. Upon reflection, we realized that we became the people that we were in our careers and our lives because of the high schools we attended. There was no doubt that I wanted to bequeath a portion of our estate directly to La Salle Academy. It is, and will always be, where my heart lies. I realized that if I did not leave some of what I had accomplished to La Salle, I would be leaving this world without saying Thank You to those that molded me into the person that I became and made my life so fulfilling.” – Robert Pesce ’71
