Hispanic Heritage Mass

Soccer starts their season with a win!

The soccer team won their first game of the season today by the score of 6-2 over St. Edmund’s. Five different players scored goals, including two from Senior Cristian Perez and one from Junior Jayden Lucas, Junior Eduardo Torres, Sophomore Bryan Otavalo and Senior Damiano Nicolosi. La Salle and the Special Olympics

Over 50 boys volunteered at the Special Olympics at Randall’s Island, for their Annual NYC Sports’ Championships. The students and faculty were able to meet some of the athletes as well as Neil Johnson, the CEO of the NYS Special Olympics. All were in great spirits on this day of service.

African American Day Parade!

Nearly 30 boys marched in the 46th Annual African American Day Parade with the NAACP. As students and faculty marched along 125th Street, we were announced to much fanfare. One student even snapped a picture with Mayor Dinkins!  

San Gennaro Festival Parade

Nearly 30 La Salle students gathered together on Mulberry Street to march in the San Gennaro Festival Parade in Little Italy on Saturday, September 12. Many of La Salle’s staff and faculty, including President, Dr. Catherine Guerriero, and Dean Ray Polanco, both cheered alongside the boys, representing La Salle with great pride.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, the JV Baseball team beat Scanlan 9-2, with Adrian Santos going 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. The Varsity team beat St. John Prep 12-1. Luis Nieves pitched a great game!

La Salle Academy Honors Assembly La Salle Academy distributed awards to its most distinguished students at its recent Honors Assembly. Gregory Thompson, Erick Santana, Nicholas Rosado, Jeremiah Katigbak, Derek Criollo, and Jimmy Berrezueta (pictured from left to right) all received second honors. Congratulations to all!  

La Salle students volunteer with the Special Olympics

Nearly 80 of La Salle’s young men volunteered at the Special Olympics Metro NY Fall Championships on Randall’s Island in September It was a great day for our Lasallian boys who cheered, shadowed, assisted and organized game after game!

LSA defeats St. Raymond 3 – 1

La Salle defeated St. Raymond’s by the score of 3-1 today. Jason Criollo scored two goals and Cristian Perez added the third. The boys played very hard in tough conditions and walked away with the win. Our next game is Friday @ Kennedy Catholic.

Mt. St. Michael’s defeated La Salle by the score of 3-0 in soccer on Monday, September 29. It was a hard-fought game all around but we ultimately came up short. Our next game is on Wednesday @ St. Raymond’s.
